Thinking about getting 245 50 16's all around. will these rub on the front? or should I get 245 45 16's?

My dilemma is 245 50 16's fill better but might rub on the front. 245 45 16's are about 1/2 inch smaller radius (1" smaller diameter over all) than the stock 215 55 16's. though the lower profile might look and handle better, i don't want more gap between tire and fender. (am i thinking about this too hard? is 1/2 inch more gap even noticable?)

I have the old SL rims 8" wide 36 mm offset. They're nothing special but I absolutely love them. Currently have 225 55 16's on and they don't rub. Just lowered the car with Vogtlands and I like how these wheels fill the wheel well nicely.

I have read that scattering is not recommended for cruise, ASR, etc. Which is why I want to put the same on front and rear. Is this true if you stay within 3% difference between front and rear or is there no tolerance at all? I feel like 245's would be too wide for the front.

Thinking about getting Kumo Ecsta AST's. Not interested in Z rated as they are noisy.

I appreciate any insight.

You

really need some tire education .If you are sticking to 16's the only close wider tire with the stock rolling diameter or close to it is the 225/50/16.the 245 is to wide for the front and will interfere.
Staggering is fine if you don't mind not being able to rotate your tires.
Find some 17 inch rims 8in wide with a 35et offset and put on 235/45/17's you lowered it already, the 17's will give you the best quality ride and handling.
A 320 does not need to be staggered it has not the power to require it.
having 4 of the same tires will allow rotation and the tires will last longer.
Costco carries or can get 235/45/17 michelins or if you are in north cal. les schwab has toyo proxie 4's that rate right up with the ride and low noise of the michelins.

rims are always on the forum in the member classifieds or new at tirerack or discount tire.
after the rims and the new tires you need to go to the dealer and get it aligned since you lowered it and changed the camber angles.

LMFAO
took a second for this to click. it definitely loses something in translation. oh in the more common version the lightening or electricity would be coming out of the butt.

thanks Ohlord, you answered all of my questions about this. only reason I wanted 245's is just looks.

Rims are a project for another time due to budget.

I might just do 225 55 16's all around or stagger with 225 55 16 front and 245 50 16 rear.
