resonator removal results -40 pounds....

I removed the resonator between the cats and the rear muffler on my 1997 E420 and had a Y pipe put in. It added a little more volume at higher RPM's, but not a significant rumble by any means.

For those of you replaced your rear muffler, did you also remove the resonator and create a window shattering rumble...? My car is still pretty stock benz tame...

Anyone want a stock resonator....

In my car the sounds impact (rumble) kicked in after 600 miles of driving without the resonator. Just wait until you put some miles on and you will surely notice a difference.

600 miles...

-Do you have an audio of your car, after the break in period?

-That's great news. I look forward to the sound increasing.

-Six hundred miles; that's about 2 1/2 weeks for me.

I wonder why it takes time to burn in...?

quicker...?

I took my friend for a ride in my car after the resonator removal. He said the car is definately rev's up faster, and he agreed that the sound is only a minor change thus far....

I just need one more monoblock, then I'll get new tires for them...
