Indy shop says the Cat's have gone bad in my E class again. Dealer replaced them at a little under 50k. A little over 100k they say they have gone bad again.

I have no plans to replace them with the OEM ones. I'm planning to replace them with aftermarket cat's though i just need to know before i go into this if they are part of the downpipes or after

or eastern cats oe units about $65 each.
You need to check why they are failing.2 sets is a clear sign you have an issue within the engine or exhaust.Lots of short trips, bad o2 sensors, ignored check engine light.Something.
you can have just the cats spliced in.
