Battery Testing?

Do i test the voltage at the battery or under the hood?
or does it really matter where?

No it should not matter, and if you do check at both locations then the voltage should be within a 0.5 volt of each other.

12.6v at the battery. If you test under the hood and it's not 12.6v then check at the battery. If you suspect problems or it's an old battery you should do a load test.

Thanks!!! i tested the battery and its above 12.6 so now my next step is replacing the brakeswitch for the random ABS ESB BRAKE WARNING lights

Make

sure it is the dealer upgraded switch.
DIY on benzworld.org w210 diy section.

and you can always check your battery output with the engine off and also the alternator output with the engine running via the climate control onboard diagnostics.Saves digging out the old digital multimeter from the garage
