Question lug nut torque

when i have my tires rotated i have brake vibration.is this due to incorrect lug nut torque?(after some drive time it does seem to lessen).

Depends

how they rotated them.An off balanced rim and tire combo moved to the front end could be causing it.Torque to 80ft.lb. in the star pattern shown in the manual.Get your wheels balanced.

Correct torque for 'short' style lug bolts is 110Nm (81 ft-lbs). For the longer style with a 'neck' between the seat and the head it is 150Nm (111 ft-lbs).

Nm x 0.74 = ft-lbs.

If you live in a wet climate or where salt is used on winter roads I would suggest retorqueing once every 6 months. No need to raise car or use 'star' pattern if only loosening one at a time.

Check to see if your current lug bolts are worn. Buy a new quality lug bolt at a dealer ($7). With a wheel off carefully screw the new lug bolt and one of your old ones into adjacent holes exactly 5 turns. Grip the end and wiggle. If the old ones are noticeably looser replace them all. Worn fasteners let in more moisture and air and corrode (seize) faster. [Yes I know some of the wear is the on threads in the hub but that's alot more expensive to replace.]

bad wear caused flat

I was getting ready to replace the tires today I had some brand new pilots that I took off when I went to the eagles

Got a flat last night one day too early of course due luckto the wear on the inside of the tire

The tire joint broke off original OEM long neck bolt

Anyone have luck removing one of these bolts when the heads been broken off

How can I avoid this in the future short of buying all short neck bolts

Purchase the

correct seat pattern and length lugs.Do you have oem rims installed?
mbpartsonline.com will have a set of 20 proper lugs.Or RAD usa.
if the rim is off welding on a bolt head to the broken one will with the aid of some good penetrating oil help the removal.

Your manual has the proper torque for lugs for your MY

This becoming a problem now and the long bolts are no longer made.

Is it the front or rear that has broken

it could be just that your tires were so worn unvenly that right after a rotation, it's normal to feel some unevenness. Maybe a rotor is warped? Did they wash your car with the rotation job and maybe the rotors were still hot?
