Parktronic is an option that fits sensors in your front and rear bumpers and rigs them to an electronic signal inside the passenger cabin that alerts you with lights and an audible signal as you get closer to obstacles when parking. It is supposed to help you parallel park, avoid hitting carriages in supermarket parking lots, etc.
In my opinion, it's a silly thing.

On some its like a thing that goes green when you unlock the car and red when you lock the car. Its like an external key sensor I think. I have only used one w210 with this and it was like a 97.

The Little black square is...
On mine it is a little black square with a red and green light.
When I lock my doors, it will flash red, when i unlock, it will flash green. I have the same square on the driver side door, where the lock would be, and on the rear view mirror.

If I am not mistaken, those are infrared receivers.
It was only recently that the MB key used both IR and radio key controls. The radio opens the door locks while the IR opens the windows.
As in the new cars, you will need to point the key to that receiver on either of the driver and passenger door to open all the windows and sunroof.
The IR portion of the key also is what disengages the lock in the key tumbler to turn the ignition on.
