Osram 65W H7's- not so great... Vs Silverstars

Hey everyone- Happy Holidays! Hey I just wanted to share my experience with a pair of Osram H7 65W I received from Candlepower, Inc (Sale price 40 for the pair). Shipping was quite slow, and I can't reccomend their service. Anyhooo, I slapped 'em in, an lo and behold, after a few hours of break in, they were not any brighter than the Silverstar H7's I have.

I have read all of the gloom and doom "don't use blue bulb" threads, and checked out D. Stern's rather featureless text website, and ordered the Osrams out of fear that I needed more lumins. NOT!

I actually replaced one with the old Silverstar and compared, and the Silverstar was cleaner, whiter and brighter. The Osram was bright, but bathed the road in a very not-white light, and was not even slightly more lengthy in coverage than the Silverstar.

Guys, I know that your garden variety, fake "7000K" bulbs are nothing but 800 lumin blue Christmas tree lights, but the Silverstars are fine, 1100-1200 lumin or not- they light up the road very nicely over stock, and last just fine. JMO...

Happy Holidays, and please be safe everyone!
