I'm new owner of E220 CDI from Malaysia,
I saw ads in my local newspaper about W210 AMG Shock and Spring
There is for 4 cylinders and 6 cylinders version which one should I got?
Hence, my car is 4 cylinders but is diesel engine heavier then petrol?

W210 W140

I'm not familiar with the weight of the 4 cylinder diesel engines in the W210. But, the W210 models with the OM606 engines are almost as heavy as the V8 E430 models. When purchasing aftermarket springs for the models fitted with the OM606 it is usually recommended that you use springs intended for the V8 models because the engine is quite heavy compared to a gasser V6.

The shop providing these springs should be able to answer this question without hesitating. Else I wouldn't buy my springs from there... But I'm 99% sure you are supposed to use the "4-cylinder" versions...

Another thing to think about, two very similar mercedeses (same engine, and about the same equipment level) may have a different spring setup as the ride height is controlled by I think 4 different springs and 5 different pads. So those AMG-springs MAY either make your car lower or higher if used with the wrong combination of pads.

i have a w210 e220 cdi it has started off with alot of black smoke from the exhaust i wonder whats wrong any idea what should i do? the car has lost power too! is that a bad injector symptom ?
