BATTERY QUESTION

Hi All,

I came home today and heard this buzzing noise coming from underneath the hood on the passenger side of the car. No electrical worked at all.

So i proceeded to try to jump the car. The buzzing noise stopped right away and the electrical worked but the car did not turn over.

So I am going to try to charge the battery. However, i read in the manual that i have to disconnect electrical component from car. What does this mean?

Also, where would i attach the battery charger? Underneath the hood on to the actual battery in the back seat?

Thanks all.

I would

charge the battery by removing it from the car. If you don't want to lose memory codes upon disconnecting the battery use a 9 volt battery connected to a 12v adapter and plug it into the cigarrette lighter or attach two alligator clips and use the battery posts under the hood. good luck

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
You do not

need to remove the battery,it is vented to the outside of the car.Just make sure the key is out of the ignition and hook up a 10 amp charger to the charging post on the drivers side of the engine compartment and the neg to a good clean neg contact.Leave it on charge overnight.
Then have the battery tested and also test the charging system.
Do not jump start the car with the key in the ignition.
most auto stores ,schucks, autozone etc check batteries and charging systems for free with the special meter.

1-800 mb roadside will test and replace the battery for battery cost only
no labor charge. You pay a bit more than diy but if you are stuck they come to you.free.for life of any mb owner.
