Unhappy Three Error Codes

1997 E320 Inline 6 93,000 miles Second Owner

I bought a code reader from Harbor Freight (online) last week just in time for the MIL to illuminate.

I've got two stored codes and one pending code.

Stored Codes

P0450 Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Malfunction

P0330 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2)

Pending Code

P0446 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit
Malfunction

From what I've been able to find searching the forum I understand that the P0450 has to do with overfilling the tank. I live in NJ and we don't pump our own gas (no self serve) the station that I go to does not pump after the click off other than to round off if you pay cash. I always pay credit so no round off.

Other than the MIL being on, how serious are these problems? Do I need to have these items fixed right away or is it OK to drive the car? Are these DIY jobs or should I take it to my mechanic.

Does anybody have a good independent in Bergen County NJ?

Thanks in advance for any help

Use your scanner to clear the codes and check it a few times over the next couple of weeks to see if any come back. Those are the ones to investigate.

My car had the P0450 pending when I bought it but it's never come back since I don't overfill the tank. Check that! I had P0460 Fuel Level Sensor Malfunction not P0450.

Probably no need to post same question on more than one of these sites since most everyone checks them all regularly. Good luck.
