9's front

and 10's rears in those offsets are going to be pretty wide.
An 8 front with a 31 offset and a 9 rear with a 35 is about ideal.
a 235/45/17 front and a 265/40/17 would be a nice staggered set up.
You can also look at used w211 rims in those sizes and offsets(ET) and get custom lugs to fit the application.
No need to say sorry for your English,If we all tried to speak another language the world would be a better place.

I think they'll work, if you go with a 235/45 up front and 255/40 out back. The fronts should be no problem with the 235's, and I'm pretty sure the rear 255's will fit considering there are guys with lowered cars running up to 275mm width with a mid-30's offset. Only thing is, the wheels are a bit wide for the tire and may look a bit stretched. You might even be able to go wider on those wheels, but I'd find a tire shop that's be willing to "test fit."

I will be running 235's up front with a 33mm offset, and 265's out back with a 33mm offset, both of which are said to fit on a w210. I'll know for sure in 10 days or so when my lug bolts & tires arrive.

going from

a 7.5 on a 37 offset on the rear to a 10 inch wide on a 31 offset is not going to work.you are talking about moving the rim 6mm(about 1/4 inch) in offset and picking up 2.5 inches in width.Where is all that metal going to fit?
a 265/40/17 only needs a 9 in wide rim on a 35 et .
Besides the interference with suspension and body parts, the added unsprung weight of those wide rims will turn the car into a slow stopping, poor accelerating slug.

True, but the stock rear wheels leave TONS of room on the outboard side...looking at mine (16x7.4, et41, 215/55 tire) it looks like there is at least 2" to spare between the tire and fender. And by lowering offset 6mm with a 2.5" wider wheel, the outer edge will be pushed out about 1.5" and inside edge will expand about 1".

Besides the interference with suspension and body parts, the added unsprung weight of those wide rims will turn the car into a slow stopping, poor accelerating slug.
True, but the effect shouldn't be too pronounced assuming quality, lightweight (preferably forged) wheels. I think the number is every lb of unsprung weight is like adding 8 lbs to the car.

265/40/17 only needs a 9 in wide rim on a 35 et .
Yes, but a 10" will work okay, though it might look a bit stretched. I never said it was optimal fitment...just that it will probably fit.

Every pound

of rotational mass unsprung is amplified.Braking distance will increase and acceleration will decrease.
A 9 inch wide on the front is even beyond AMG 18's
18 x 8” ET31 front, 18 x 9” ET35 rear.
and they carried 245 and 275's with factory rolled fenders.
He could try,but at the cost of rims and rubber to have it probably fit,is not an option I would chance. There is nothing like the sound of tire or rim against metal to wake you up quick to the fact that the correct size should have been used the first time.

I am using an 18x8.5 with 35et up front mounting a 245-40-18 tire. No rub and car is not lowered. A 9 inch wide wheel would just rub the inner suspension bolt given the same 35 et. Go with a 235 tire and no wider than 8.5 rim and you will be happy. Rolled lip for a 245 would be warmly recommended. A stretched tire on a too wide rim just looks awkward and will not handle well in the twisties. The shoulder of the tire should be directly below the rim lip to be optimized for best stability through the corners. Going overboard in either direction reduces the tires' ability to stay flat and square with the road surface.

Most

owners going to 18's are also lowering the car.Otherwise it looks awkward.
245 on the front of a lowered car is asking for problems.
Saw some awsome strut towers today made in the shop of one of the forum members.Adjust camber to a more stable degree than camber eccentric bolts and none of the creaking noise associated with the eccentrics. He also makes modified control arms for the rears for lowered cars.
