Jumping E200K?

Hi all...

Silly question here - I left my car to sit for 3 months, as I needed to go abroad for work. I'm due to return next week, and I'm pretty sure that the battery will be flat.

It is a 2000 E200K, and I've not had it for very long, hence my question - where on earth is the battery on it? How do you jump these?

The manual is all in German (which I don't speak), and in the car... It looks like there is a "jump point" in the engine bay, which must be connected to the batter positive terminal. I think the battery is under the rear seat, but I'm not sure - I never had the time (or forethought) to look!

Thanks in advance!

The battery is beneath the rear seat.

It may start......If it doesnt seem too dead you could try jumping it from the positive post in the engine compartment and ground of your choosing. The + post is over by the fuse boxes on the left side of the car.

If it needs charging pull the seat and disconnect frist; you'll prob have to re-sync windows, etc too if that is the case.

Thanks for that... I don't have the stock radio, so I don't think I'll have an issue with the security code, but as for the windows - we'll see.

I'll post back how I get on. The weather has been pretty cold, but not consistently so.

If possible, the general consenses is to charge the battery using the under hood terminals prior to starting the car if the battery is dead. Too much load on the alternator and less risk to the electronics.

is right on with his suggestion.3 months the battery needs to be charged on a 10amp charger at least 10 hours or overnignt.Use the underhood charging post with the key out of the ignition.
If you ever need to jump start the W210 always let it sit with the donor car running for at least 15 minutes and then put the key in and start the car.W210 system can have the ignition system affected by improper jumping ,so best to charge it up.And the next time you go on a long trip leave the battery on a battery tender. That way it will remain fully charged and the battery will last much longer.
