Advice needed for replacing 2001 E320 OEM HID bulb
Hi,
I read the owners manual but it does not say how to change the low beam OEM HID bulb in my 2001 E320...it says let the dealer do so. Is that really necessary? I read somewhere else in this forum that it's tricky so will really appreciate someone who's done it to clue me in. I opened the lamp cover, but it's not obvious how to remove the bulb and I don't want to break anything. It seems you can twist the electrical connector (ignitor?) on the bulb to the left but didn't go further because that seemed a little trivial to hold the bulb in the reflector. Thanks for any advice!

Don't touch
the glass with your fingers.Don't tap the glass on any hard object,Make sure your key is out of the ignition. Are you r/r both,if not they may not match color.Otherwise it is pretty much get to the bulb and release the bulbs. If you have touched the glass on the new bulb already, wipe it with some alcohol and let it dry before installing.

Twist and pull off the socket on the bulb.
unscrew the three screews on the bulb holder just enough to twist it about 1-1,5cm I think it was torx no 10 or 15. pull it out
The bulb (or burner) should still be held in place by a spring of some sort, so don't worry about the bulb falling down. Pull the old bulb out. Install in opposite order. Observe the top marker on the holder.
You can only put D2R bulbs into the OEM headlights. D2S is for projectors.
