'97 MB E420 Sport/'88 MR2

AC Compressor clutch smoking :(

So I've left the car sitting for 6 months..and today I started it and I noticed a funny smell coming from the engine bay. I look inside and noticed the ac compressor was smoking so I turned the engine off. I think it might have seized while being left untouched for so long? What can I do to get it going again? should I spray some WD40 in the bearing or something? I was wondering can I drive the car to the shop if I have the auto climate control turned off?

'99 E430, '05 ML500, '15 GLK350

It should be OK and not burn the belt when the compressor is switched off (EC button), but it sounds like the internals are seized and you need a new compressor.
