So I finally performed the pixel fix to my instrument cluster . . .

The temperature was a PERFECT fix. The clock and gear selector not so much. From what I've read both here and the DIY on benzworld.org this seems to be fairly common. I even had to put 2 shims under the ribbon on the right side but literally no improvement. . .any ideas or comments?

BTW, it was MUCH easier to do than you would have thought from the reading.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Sometimes

the pixels are just plain dead and no ribbon and foam fix will bring them back to life.

put a little tiny cross and a small flower on the side of the road

I have fixed two separate clusters so far. On one of them, there were two or three pixels that did not come back. Are a couple of pixels out or is the whole thing dim? Could be a backlight bulb?

It's kinda weird. . .on the gear indicator, it's 3 pixels now, but it was worse earlier today

On the clock, it's also 3 or 4 pixels. . .I dunno. Like I said, the temp indicator is perfect!

Does anyone know the part numbers for the ribbon cables? That would be the best fix.

Little update

Two weeks on, the right side display is PERFECT. No pixels missing at all. . .must have had to get warm in the car for the connection to occur (?).
