Hi, i am debating right now if i should upgrade my front calipers to the e55 amg calipers. I have 18's so they will clear as of right now. I am debating if i should buy the calipers, stoptech steel lines, cyro rotors, and some hawk pads
OR
Should i stick with the stock calipers, get cyro rotors, stoptech steel lines, and hawk pads.
I can get the E55 calipers for $200. So the biggest price difference would be in the calipers and of course the price of the bigger rotors. Another problem i would run into is i would need to purchase new wheels because the stock wheel i use in the winter are 16's, and they wouldn't clear the e55 calipers and rotors, unless i purchased some cheap used 17's from the sport model or some other kind of wheels.
I don't know if its all worth it and necessary.
Any opinions or advice is appreciated.
thank you!

If you're going to upgrade the front brakes, I would recommend upgrading rears as well. Otherwise you will get excessive front brake bias and the car will nosedive on braking. Also make sure master cylinders are compatible or you could end up with a squishy pedal.
With my old BMW, I first upgraded just the fronts and hated it. Then I upgraded the rear to complement the fronts, and the brakes were ALOT better balanced...but the pedal was no longer firm. Subsequently upgraded the master cylinder to one off a v12 model, and now the brakes are absolutely sublime.

in my opinion it's not worth it at all. for everyday driving you won't feel a noticeable difference from the setup you have now. unless you have plenty of money to spend, i wouldn't do that. i would save that money when something breaks or spend it on something more important. not trying to tell you what to do, just my opinion.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Cryo Rotors
non slotted or drilled.
Akebono pads,ss lines.
55's had more brakes to slow down more K force generated.Your mass is not accelerating as fast as the 55 you don't need to stop that mass as fast.E55 stops according to the specs 4ft short of my 99 Wagon with the above set up.60-0 112 ft.

Thanks guys.
Im definitely going to go withe cyro rotors from frozenrotors.com unless i can find them cheaper.
Im just debating now if i should go with akebono pads or hawk street pads.
I want excellent stopping power, a pad that wont squeal all the time unless there really really hot and have a reason, and a pad with less dust than OEM pads
