Rear View Mirror Removal
Anyone know how (or how easy it is) to remove the inside rear-view mirror on a 97 E420? Mine has an annoying rattle in it, and I'd like to investigate further -- but only if I'm not opening a can of worms.

Yes, there are wires....You will have 2 wires come out...One yellow top and one with a black top....They come out about 1 inch, so dont worrie about ripping it out.....Make sure you do not pull the rear view mirror off the ball its on...that is a BIT&....Make sure you remove it all.

nope.
No, I didn't remove the mirror. I got scared that I was pulling too hard and I'd rip the whole thing to shreds. So, I'll just deal with the rattle I guess.

rearview mirror removal install
I've removed the mirror to hardwire a Valentine V1. So far so good. But how do I reinstall the mirror. It does not seem to just "pop back in". Is there a special tool to use or a special procedure? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
