door control modules

Hi all,
I have a problem with my door control module. After I received my car from the dealership, all electrical items stopped working on both of my doors. I am talking about mirrors, seats, and windows.
When I brought the car to the dealership, they told me that bolth my door control modules are dead. I got the parts number for the modules but I cannot find anyone selling those. I would hate to buy them at the dealership as they want 260 for each. The part numbers are: 2108207726 for left one and 2108207826 for the right one.
Since I brought the car home I disconnected the battery and after I connect the doors work for about a day or two and then stop working again. So I am not sure whether it is hardware poroblem or software problem ( I suppose the module has to run some basic software).
So I suppose I have several questions:
1. Does anyone know where I could buy those door control modules? I saw that AZ Autohaus does not carry them.
2. As far as replacing them, are those modulkes inside doors or are they the modules under the seats?
3. Could the module be "dead" and yet come to life after the battery re-connect? Or is it some software glitch which needs to be solved by reset?
Let me know any of your thoughts because I have not seen any similar thread and I am mostly in the dark.
Thanks
Karel

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
They

are not dead if they work on disconnect and reconnect. Examine the PSE located by the battery under the rear seat. Look for corrosion. Examine the fuse box for it also. Fuse list for those items should be on a heavy card stock list stored by the battery. If not there is a fuse list on www.benzworld.org
w210 diy section.

Hi ohlord,
Somehow I pictured you would answer firts.
I tried all fuses and they are all fine. I think the problem IS with the DCMs, but I am just not sure what.
Any recommedations on my questions?
Thanks

i'm confused because your post described window control but appear to
indicate that the module you need is on the door (DCM). on my 99 the
door module/switches cover seat and steering wheel fore/aft/up/down,
sans window. had it been this control unit, i would have cut loose with
the two i have here for $45 each.

i pasted the part# you provided into the Russian site, and it doesn't appear
to be the switch cluster on the door that I'm picturing.

That's a nice price, because they wanted around 80 for each at junk yard. But my biggest problem is identifying the part I mentioned in the first post by the part number and also finding out if I need to replace it at first place. If it is the part, than I would definitelly take you on your offer.
Does anybody has a response to 1-3 questions in the first post?
Thanks

Door Control Modules

The DCM's are located on the door itself, behind the door card.
I had mine out a couple of weeks ago, checking a problem with the IR receiver (still not resolved). The IR receiver at the door handle, also connects into the DCM, so I would have assumed that if they had failed you would not be able to use the central locking from the key.
Doesnt sound like yours are dead from your description and the way they reset, but thats just my opinion, and I'm no expert on this.
Note: I draw reference from a 01 E200K postfacelift, remote keys use both IR and RF

thanks eddie,
I went today to the recycle place and we tried the used module, but it would not still work. The guy there thought that it would be rather the central window module on the central console. He sais he sels ten times more those than the DCMs, because they get damaged by drink spills as the drink holder sits right above it.
Anyway, they did not have any, since I have wagon, but I tried to take apart mine and clean it. Could not get the board out completely to inspect as it holds by the mirror stick, but at least cleaned what I could have.
I will see how it would work, but I am not sure if this module would affect the seat and steering wheel part as that one stops working too.
