Partial Instrument Cluster/Guage Failure
After several seconds of spinning the car over the tachometer, fuel gauge, and temperature hand quit moving. The starting problem resolved itself and on a hunch from another board member; I replaced the K40 relay with a new one from the dealer but with no success. Below I've posted a video of what I'm talking about and as shown during this video the ETS and ABS lights come on. I'm more concerned with the electrical issue involving the gauges. I've moved the car maybe 50 feet since putting in the new K40 relay, so I'm not sure if that resolved the abs/ets lights. The CEL is on during this video but that was due to a glow-plug error from when it wouldn't start before. I've sine cleared the code. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the fuse to the cluster and the ribbon connection in the cluster?
Keep us posted AND SOMEONE WILL FIGGER IT OUT.
seems like a good puzzle hey.
Where's the ribbon connection you mentioned above and where's the best way to access it? I talked a friend who's owned a Benz or two in the past and he said there might be a reset button for the cluster?
No clue but I'm willing to try anything.
comm will be reestablished with the cluster hopefully.
You will need to resync your windows and such----procedure for that is in the manual or up in the diy stickies that Greg built.
Hope it at least sets you down a path towards an odd set of symptoms.
