260E Missing in RPM range 1500 and 2000

1997 W210 Avongarde W124
260E Missing in RPM range 1500 and 2000
MY 1989 260E misses between 1500 and 2000 RPM. I have replaced the distributere cap, plug leads, fuel filter and both fuel pumps, spark plugs and coil. none of these items have overcome the problem. The vehicle starts first crack everytime cold and hot so it can't be the cold start valve or the injectors. Any ideas as I don't want to take it to the garage as they will only guess the issue as I have. I was wondering if the alternator may be the problem as the dash lights brighten and go normal whilst driving at night. Yes the battery has been change also. Both fuel pumps are running fine. It is a mystery, HELP.

You need to be
in the older E section.
And yes it could be an injector fouled.
If you replaced all that other stuff in an attempt to avoid a good shop and have not solved the issue don't you think it is time to find a good shop with the proper test equipment and diagnose the problem without guessing and throwing parts at it like you have been?
And everyone here knows how much that pains me to tell you" get it to a shop".

Thank you - Appreciate your advice -I agree but the other parts were a little worse for ware anyway
I have another set of injectors from another 124 I owned I will try those in a last ditch attempt to DIY before engaging the services of a MB Garage
