Power Lock Problem ('98 E320)
Gents,
I was the guy that 2 weeks ago had the son who washed the inside of our E320 wagon with a garden hose.
All seems to be working fine with the exception of the power locks. They are working ok some days but do not work on other days.
I know the key fob is working because the alarm is activating (turn signals blink affirming activation). I also think I hear the vacuum pump working, and the tailgate locking mechanism works fine, I think that is vacuum assisted.
The door locks do not work at all via the on-dashboard power lock switch.
I have read the posts on power locks and still have a few questions for those that are familiar with the system:
1) I cannot seem to find the door switch for either the drivers side or passenger side doors. I have looked on the doors and the jambs and see nothing that resembles a switch. Anyone know exactly where it is, or can send a picture of the location?
2) I will be cleaning and inspecting fuses 1,5, 16 and 19 for continuity and contact quality.
I will also be disconnecting the battery to do a system hard-reset. Later today
3) Where is the control unit located for the central locking system and what does it look like ?
4) If that does not work, and I want to replace the control unit, does anyone know if I get one from a salvage yard or a guy that is parting out a similar car, do I need the dealer to program the unit or does it just work once plugged in.
Thanks to all !!!

SAM Module
Sorry, I stand corrected, it looks like the SAM module located in the engine compartment in the fuse/relay box. That did NOT get wet.

Found door switches
I found the door switches (located on the underside of the striker latch.
I tired the taped coin on the door to exaggerate the action on the switch, as well as worked them by hand. They seem to be operating normally. Power door locks still do not work, either with remote or on the dashboard lock switch.
