Brake light is out
Hey guys my passenger brakelight has been out for about six months. At first I of course thought it was just the bulb but it turned out that was not the case when I took the car to the dealership for its service they checked it out and told me it was the wiring and we would be talking about $400+ to fix the problem. Later on I took the car to a local shop (beemer&benz) to get my engine mounts replaced when I went to pick up the car the guy said he noticed my tail light was out so he went ahead and fixed it. It was working for about 2 months after that but now the same problem has come up again.
Could this be some kind of brake switch? or will I truly need to spend the money to have the dealership re wire the whole thing?
Thanks

hmm.. same problem that I am facing right now. My e320 4matic wagon's passenger side brake light behave on/off time to time. I replaced the bulb but it seems the bulb housing gets little loose. I don't know how to fix that.

I used some light sandpaper to scuff the contacts and pulled the tabs out a little from the housing. I have the same problem with my 4matic wagon on the drivers side. I have had no issues ever since. 4 months and counting
