1st Post - E430 Vacuum Sound?
I just bought a used 2002 4 Matic and hear a pretty obvious vacuum-type sound when accelerating. Run fine, most obvious at very low speeds, might be normal - any tips? .

Get it on
a lift and have the front transfer case checked for noise.
4matics are noisier.

$1k for changing your brakes
. i hope in that price is incluled changing both front and rear rotors + pads + sensors, replacing the brake fluid, and washing your car. norm, you can change your brakes for a lot cheaper at a mercedes mechanic. most of them charge around $200 or less for a brake job. avoid dealer unless you don;t mind paying big $$$.

Can't do it myself - but not rich either. I will look for local Euro mechanic and price it out. Thing$ are high here in D.C., Merchants Tire, where I get the oil changed in my Acura quoted about the same price.
Thanks guys...Norm
