Is MB-TEX Leather real actual leather??? i.e. is some part of it made from the skin of a once living animal??? I've been told Yes!! I've been told No!!! I've even been told it is made of real leather which is sandwhiched between two sheets of clear plastic, and that the holes are used to allow the leather inside to breethe.... Does anyone have an anwser??? Thanks in advance......

MBTex=Vinyl
MB-Tex is Mercedes version of vinyl. Granted, it's an upscale vinyl, and it certainly lasts a long time. Only problem I ever had was with the Tex in my 89 300E-my sunglasses left on the seat in the sun actually caused a burn-hole the size of a dime one afternoon! From 99 on, I don't think MBTex has been available alone, but rather in conjunction with Leather Inserts on the butt and back area. Allows them to sell every car with "Leather" (except for cloth in the C's and M's)
