Seat and Shifter Questions
Seat question. . . both seats will recline all the way but will not lean back foward all the way. Using the memory button will get it to a more acceptable position. Is there a way to re-set the seats or am I going to have to replace the seat control module?
Shifter *** question. . . I've seen the video on how to remove the shfter *** (turn plastic ring on base of shifter pull *** off) but I can't get the plastic ring on mine to rotate. It looks like the leather is attached to the plastic ring at the base of the *** and I don't want to damage it removing it. How do I get this thing off?
BTW it's a 96 E-e20 with just the regular power seats (controlled from the door)

Not sure about the seats.
It's possible it's (knob) already in the release position so try turning it 1/4 turn clockwise to make sure.
If not, then to release grip the plastic sleeve at the base of the knob and turn 1/4 counter-clockwise. It maybe stiff if it hasn't been off in a while. It might help to press down on the top the knob with the other hand while turning.
Once released it pulls off but that may also be hard. But don't pull uncontrolled so that the knob flies out the sunroof.
