Front Grille

I have a 1998 E320, the top right corner of my front grille the paint is starting to peal, and there seems to be some discoloration. I was wondering if any one else had this problem? Are there any products that I can use to maybe clean it and repaint it?

Is it the paint or the clear coat? If it's small, the MB paint repair kits include both a paint and a clear coat touchup. See dealer with your paint code.

Its the front grille metal trim. So when it peels the paint is coming off and I can see a slight yellowish color behind the peeling.

So it's actually the chrome that is peeling. I don't know of a repair remedy short of replacing the grill. Others might have a better idea but I don't think you could get it re-chromed for the price of a used grill unless you have a friend with a plating shop. I'd say the best bet would be finding a 98 being parted out due to be totaled somewhere besides the front end. 96 to 01 (pre-face lift) should also fit but double check before buying.

The center plastic part with the chrome strips (vertical and horizontal can be removed. There are screws around the periphery.
