Removing Glove Box 2002 E320
I am trying to replace the cabin air filters on a 2002 E320. I took out 6 phillips head screws, 2 plastic type screws and no luck. Two of the screws were recessed at the top front edge on either side of the light. I tugged and nothing. There is some kind of plastic thing at the back on the left but it does not to be holding anything in. The bottom of the glove box moves but the top will not budge. Can anyone give me some help?
Thanks

did you see the picture in the link (in my earlier reply)? those two plasic tabs
are what is keeping the glove box from coming out easily. one person
suggested using a screwdriver (but i would suggest something softer like a
stiff plastic or....(!) a wooden paint stirrer stick. insert over the top lip of
the glove box....and try to leverage it down....while pulling on the box/lid.
first time, it'll take about 30-40# of pressure. after the suggested 'fix' in
which you trim the plastic tab/fins, it'll come out easily.

It takes more pressure than seems safe. Pull down somewhat while pulling out, and you have to pull pretty hard. It may help to push on the upper dash while pulling on the glovebox.
