So I picked up an OBDII scanner today...(help with codes)

FIgured it will come in handy lol.

I started by clearing out all codes, then driving until the check engine light comes on again. After about 20 miles it came back on. So i hooked my new toy up & the following are what came on:

P0170
fuel trim malfunction (bank1)

P0173
fuel trim malfunction (bank2)

I did notice today a couple of times when i pressed the gas to accelerate from a dead stop the car seemed to hesitate or bog down for a moment, then it would take off like normal.

Any ideas?

TIA

UPDATE: I did a search on these error codes & ive seen a few references to the MAF sensor. When i first got the car I took it by Wal-Mart to get them to condition the headlights (remove the yellow haze) & install a couple of bulbs. The reason for this is that about 3 weeks ago I broke my kneecap & I have a lot of trouble bending & such, on crutches & all. they had to remove the breather for access to one of the bulbs, & I just realized that I didnt get any check engine light action until afterwards. is it possible that those idiots did something?

I would check to make sure the MAFS is plugged in all the way, and that the intake and breather hoses are all securely connected. Also check the air box to make sure they didn't leave any presents in there. Wal Mart "technicians" are usually not of the same caliber as any other automotive technicians and are typically more prone to screw up something.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Any air

getting into the intake after the MAF will cause maf codes.
Fix the hose.First.
After that the problem should resolve.
If not and there is no air getting in unmetered you need to get a real oem maf from www.autohausaz.com
takes 5 minutes to install and you can do it one kneeeed

Next time follow the diy for polishing lenses on www.benzworld.org w210 section and do a better job yourself after you are all healed up
