part # or bulb type for climate control?

I also have a 1998 E320 (wagon) and just replaced this bulb - the one that does the backlighting in the climate control head. I ordered it from www.AutohausAZ.com on line, part # 002 544 02 94. They described it as a Jahn/Flosser bulb, 12Volt, 1.2 watt, clear with white base, dashboard lighting.
The bulb cost 94 cents from them!
It was a piece of cake to put in - use radio removal tools to pull out the climate control head, tilt up the climate control head to get access to the bulb on the bottom (didn't even have to disconnect wiring plugs) and twist the bulb base counter-clockwise 1/4 turn. Tilt the climate control head back to horizontal and shake it a few times, bulb will just fall right out. Just pop in the new bulb & push the climate control head back into the dash. Took me 2 minutes.

It might have, when we got the car it was intermittent and tapping on the face of the climate display would make it light up. I seem to remember at night it was pretty dark with that light out! I know for sure it does the light behind the temp numbers.
