go with Dr.Colorchip. Much better for touchup of road rash etc. than factory or other touch up paints. Used it on three different vehicles (Silverado- Green, E-420 "royal indigo" and Honda "Champange") Doesn't leave "pimples' like most touch up paint, and if you goof, easy to remove and try again.

I have used Autosharp Pen
with great results on small chips and scratches. Color matching is excellent:

Hope it helps,

I washed my car just the other day and was shocked to see how many rock chips there was. I couldn't really see them with all the dirt on the car from the dirty streets. How hard is it to match Brilliant Silver?

I have #744 too and found the dealer kit to work well. After paint has fully cured, rub out with polishing compound and then a coat of clear coat repair. Almost invisible.
The other advantage is that the manufacturer knows the paint chemistry and can spec a repair coating to best match for both bonding and color.
Good luck.

Yes, the metal plate will tell you. However, there are about thirty 3 digit numbers with no labels like 'paint code' so unless you already know the number is will not be easy to find.
Here are some other possibilities -
1) If you have a service invoice from dealer check for a little box labeled color. Usually two codes like 744/208. First is exterior paint second is interior.
2) Plug your VIN into this site. Color codes are lines 11 and 12

3) Look for the option card which came with your car when new. It is sometimes glued into the back of the owners manual or glued on the inside of a removable panel in the rear storage area.
4) You can also join epc net (it's free if you run windows and live in US). Once a member, find the menu option for the 'data card' and run it.
Good luck.

For anyone who's interested I took a picture of the code plate on the radiator support. I highlighted the interior/paint codes for reference.
On mine 208 is interior and 744 is exterior paint.
