Messin with the radio
Does anyone have any idea on how to add an auxillary cable to my W210? I saw a bilken mp3 adapter for like 250, but i think there must be a cheaper way. I have and like my CD player, so I really dont want an option that will negate that. its a 99 E430 sport. Thanks in advance.

At first I used a cassette adapter but that didn't work out well because I couldn't flip the little door closed and it kept beeping at me. Now I use an FM transmitter that I picked up for $15 on sale and it works great. The only problem is that it wiggles around the AC/DC outlet, but not enough to cause problems with listening to music. Also has an LED screen that is easy to see day and night.

forum archives should reveal DIY to open the case, fit in the cassette adaptor,
and string the cord out the rear, and down into the console for rethreading,
e.g. out of the center console compartment. if searching doesn't uncover
this, i'm sure i have in my notes at home.

i made tis job. i put the cassete adapter with the radio superior cap out & run the little wire out of the rear. putting on the center console "looks factory and all ok" but i need to be honest. The sound quality is no good.. i want to run an RCA wire direct to the R/L cassete channels, (becker made this job bi 120 - 150$) to get an a CD quality by my ipod. some people here have the becker modify radio, but nothing one take some time to pop of the superior cap & take pics to all 
come one guys, pleeeaaaseee some people want this mode.
