ABS BAS ESP ALERTS

yesterday alerts came on for these 3 malfunctions. Today came on again while driving home. I reset the relay for abs and started up again malfunction went away. Where can i start to diagnose further? Is this a common genie?

Hi there,

I can't comment on 4Matic but I would assume/guess it's your brake light switch. Do a search for my name I just replaced mine recently. Easy DIY

I had the same problem last year, but mine was the live feed to the brake light switch, if it is the BLS it's only a 10 minute job.

If I were you I wold hange it right away.
Mine had came up and went away,so I bought the swith and was in no rush to change it.
My wife went to the grocery store then the car didn't go into drive and couldn't leave the parking.
I had to get the switch changed in the parking lot.
I wouldn't neglect that for a 20.00$ part.

FYI - When the three lights come on, you lose your brake lights also.

I changed the brake light switch today ($28 part at MB dealer) - solved the three warning lights, got my brake lights back, and I now can shift out of park without the "pen in the emergency release" tab.

This isn't the case with mine. It could certainly happen with a bad brake light switch, though.

There appears to be a significant distinction between just having the warning lights go off as opposed to the throttle being limited to the "limp home mode" Unfortunately, I am suffering through the latter affliction which appears to be independent of the simple BLS or NSS replacements that have been described extensively in recent threads. My car still goes into LHM on cold starts which after multiple restarts returns to normal throttle response until the next morning cold start. I have already replaced the ETA and now am looking for a reasonably priced control module for the ASR/ET/CC.
I wish it were only the $20 BLS!

Just wanted to post the solution to my ESP/ABS/BAS problem.

After trying the brake light switch to no avail, I had the codes scanned at a local indy shop and the lateral acceleration sensor had thrown a code. This module is part of the ESP system and is located under the carpet beneath the driver's seat. Believe it or not Mercedes wants > $2K for this module! I found it on a German used parts website for < 50 Euros I finally got it replaced today and the annoying beeps and lights are gone

It's MB part number 000 542 65 18.

good luck!

Brake light switch. Easy to replace. Under the driver's side dash, above the brake pedal. OEM price is $15.00 or so.

I have the 3 lights on problem. Tried the steering wheel fix to no avail. Would it still be the BLS if brake lights are working properly ?
