New guy here
Hello everyone.
Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been checking this forum/site for about 6 months now. It helped greatly in preparing me for the purchase of my 2000 E430 last Oct (trading up from an '89 300E purchased new). Now that I'm a little more familar with the 430, I'll try to help out when I can.

I have a question for you.
When you first put the car in drive after starting up, say about 10 seconds or 50 feet, do you hear a noise from the parking brake area that sounds like something is releasing?
Mine does that every time, and I assume it is intended for some reason, but I can't figure out why.

No, I never heard anything like that. The only noise I hear just after starting off is the auto door locks engaging at 9-10mph. That might be a tough one to figure out. When I had my old 300E, I used to hear a creaking/rubbing sound when I went up a driveway at an angle - and I felt it in the brake pedal. Dealer said "everythings fine"... and I never did find out what it was even after 13 years!
