Security system failure
Today, after work I have tried to unlock my ’98 W 210. No turn signal blink and door stayed locked . My key fob made short red blink. After few attempts I used the mechanical key . After opening door alarm went off, siren on, lights on. After disabling horn with blinking lights I got to my garage.
Only driver door has been open, no turn signals, no working windows. Red light on the push button for door unlocking is still blinking

How to disable security system without visiting the local stealer![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)

thanks

Check your manual for key info it tells u how to
check battery level in key I think and replace battery. Might also be time for a new generation key, they cost about $240 including tax

This started to happen on my old 00 320...may be a sign of actual low battery in car - is this a relatively old battery?...crazy things start to happen when battery is low on juice.
As for disabling security...my issue went away after doing a batt. disconnect and resetting system - this may work as a similar fix, but I haven't had much experience with pre-facelift model electronics, so hopefully someone else will also concur or chime in. Best of luck

Also a possible CAN bus error. See if disconnecting the battery for a minute corrects it (temporarily). Don't forget your radio code first.

can you get in through the driver's door and do a disconnect from inside the car? might be tight space but worth a try to allow the system to reset with a batt disconnect.
I had to reset the security system when my keys got locked in the trunk and security sys had been triggered when I tried opening the door...I was able to climb in through the sunroof I had open. Called MB roadside and he decided to disconnect the battery and reconnected to allow the system to "think" it had been reset to allow the unlock button in the cabin to be used.
