Retired my 97 E420
I sold my 97 E420, it was a great car. I bought a 2003 E500 this week, the power and handling are excellent.

Wow, I'm looking at a 97 E420 this weekend - silver / black interior, 112K miles sport edition, it looks great and asking price is $5,500...what did you sell yours for if you don't mind me asking?

Sold my 97 E420 for $4500, it had a perfect body and interior, black on black, genuine AMG 3-piece 17" wheels and new Pilot Sports, 235,000 miles, still running strong.
I bought the 2003 E500 for $14,000, it has 102,000 miles, black on stone leather, in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, new Michelin Pilot Primacy all around ($1200 worth of tires), 2 new airmatic struts, new airmatic pump, new brake pads, new SBC brake pump; gave it the once-over with Star diagnostics.
Not Dryvit, it's hard-coat stucco.
