300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Most likely

a problem with the pse.
Have you inspected it for loose lines or standing water?
If not that then you need to find an independent shop that has a star diagnostic machine and have them run the diagnostics.

pull up the rear seat and check yourself for any water.. If you find no water, unplug the PSE electrical connectors and check for green colored corrosion on the connectors or inside the pump. Your local guy may just not know where to look..

SDS (Star Diagnostic System) is mostly at the dealer or a very well heeled indy. Since most of the interface is proprietary, have the car scanned with the 'real McCoy'. Although, as mentioned, check the battery/PSE area and wiring yourself if you haven't done so.

Good luck.

Your car's electronics stores values for several things -- some but not all of them are erased when you disconnect the battery. Sort of like a reboot on your PC. Of course, if the problem still exists the faults are reestablished.

Good luck.
