w210, 2001, DVD instead of Comand 2.0
Hey guys ! My Comand 2.0 in w210 is broken, and also it's old I want to change it for smth new.
Just want to know...anybody replaced it with other players ?
I want large lcd with touch screen all in one (navi, dvd, mp3), i dunno exactly...for example Kenwood DDX-5022Y
But looking for cheaper, on e-bay
Please advise

If you don't
care about steering wheel controls or you don't have them on your model you can hardwire in any system your heart desires. Just bypass stock harness and go hard. Add a sub amp, build a death box, install ohm matched speakers with a crossover center stage speaker and call it good. You can even add a backup camera if you wish.

2001 E320 - RIP
time for change....
i was looking at this, it slides in/folds down, won't block a/c controls..... http://www.lightinthebox.com/7-inch-...4-_p98031.html
...some more choices... http://www.lightinthebox.com/wholesale-Car-Video_c2535
...and here, http://www.szwaywell.com/prod_dtl.asp?id=492
...or even...a carputer (under $400, running win ce/xp or linux), you can plug in an obdII and run an app (even your own custom app) to monitor the car, etc. ...really, once you have the carputer, the applications and possibilities are endless...
....i'm gathering my info and looking to complete the 'renovation' before the kid goes off to college in the fall with the car!
....same conv going on here... https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ouble-din.html

You can wire into the stock harness fairly easily and use the stock speakers and amp. What year is your car?
Bear in mind that the COMAND is actually slightly larger than double DIN, so you'll need to build a plate or something to fill the gap (about 5mm) between where the wood trim stops and where the new stereo sits.

ohlord, yes i know, but i have one guy - he's good in this, i think he can connect buttons of volume, dunno about phone buttons... will talk with him.
kbad, thanks for links ! Looking for 2 din without slider... cause in my case it will block transmission lever
saintz, yes i looked at dimensions, width is fine, height is about 10mm gap from top and bottom, will try to fit it as good as i can, otherwise will build a plastic or rubber plate.
thanks guys for reply, after installation i will post here
