actually, those outer lights are dual filament bulbs. so you need to verify
whether the brake lights are ON and not going off when brake pedal is
released......or that the brake lights are OFF and not lighting up when the
pedal is depressed.

determine which...and report back.

Brake lights on

Thanks. I called my daughter and she states she turns on the car (no head lights) and the outside brake lights and the brake light in the lower back window all come on solid, hitting the brake light does not make it brighter and they do not turn off till car is turned off.

ah!....okay then!...if it were me, the next thing i'd do is to crawl underneath
the front dash to poke and prod....focusing my attention on the brake light
switch
.

if she posts here for help, all the guys would offer to help replace that switch for
her for free

Brake Lights

Thank you. We replaced the brake switch about a year ago as we were having some wierd ABS lights come on when there were no issues. We bought the part and had a mechanic friend do it. He stated it was an easy fix. We have had so many strange issues with this car. Now that I think about it, the brakes were done only a couple weeks ago, could they have screwed up the sensor or something?

My daughter just turned 18 I think I will keep her off posting here!!
