Not ready
Wait overnight so the engine is cold. Start the car and let it sit in park at idle for 20 minutes shut it off for 10 seconds and restart it and let it sit for 20 more minutes at idle. Then shut it off. wait 10 minutes and read the i/m code it should indicate evap ready. Secondary air start the car with engine cold and in park rev it to 1400 rpm and keep it there ten minutes let it idle for 10 seconds and shut it off wait ten seconds and repeat the 1400 rpm for 10 minutes test.
Then take the car for a ride on the freeway at no more than 3000rpm or in excess of 60 mph.Go about 25 miles shut it off for a few minutes and do the same return trip home. No a/c on and don't go over 60mph since that negates the test functions.
o2 and cats have nothing to do with either i/m status.
if you have no check engine light or failed sensors you just need to get the i/m back into ready state. This should do it.If you need the whole factory procedure pm me and i can send it to you.
depending on year you can have 2 not readys up tp my2000 cold starts after sitting overnight and no speeds above 60 or revs above 3000 are the keys. That and the 2 first procedures i listed.
keep us posted.
why were they set not ready?did you clear codes or unhook the battery for some reason?
