Question Head Unit

I have a head unit, that came with the car when I bought, and I'm trying to install the aux cable to it (haven't bought the cable yet). I looked in the glove box, in the center compartment, and seems like I don't have it. I was wondering, if I take the head unit out, and when I re-insert it, is it going to ask for a Mercedes password? (like orignal head units do). And also, who did this aux mod, you think you can help me out getting the correct aux cable, and make sure I do it right the first time. I'm looking at some tutorials, but not the one that has about the correct aux cable.

This is the kind of head unit I have.

You have the COMAND Nav system, so it shouldn't ask for a code when you unplug it and replug it. Only the standard radios are supposed to do that. If you have an Aux jack, it will be in the glove box on the side close to the radio.

Its not on the side... I was looking online, it said if its not on the side, the AUX cable was never ordered with the COMAND Nav, and you can install it, there should be ports on the back, for the AUX wiring.

I would assume the COMAND unit is the same as others, so yes you should be able to just install the cable. Is there a knockout plug in the glove box (might be hard to see)? Otherwise you'll need to just drill it.

Also, if you're connecting an iPod, you might look at Dension (check EnfigCarStereo.com). They make an iPod adapter so you can keep it in the glove box and control it with the COMAND unit (i.e. changing tracks, etc.).

....2002+ were pre-wired to the passenger door rocker.....if you pick up the harness....there are three different part numbers: A2035406107 or A2104405005 or B67824531 ..... http://www.worldimpex.com/parts/merc...es_783090.html .....you can connect it at the rocker connection and run it up to the glove box....you should see a pop out on the right just inside the glove box...see pics...

...yes...one end has the female 3.5 plug that snaps in at the glove box and the other end snakes down to the connector in the rocker panel...
