sunroof wind deflector problem
This is on my 1998 E320 wagon. The sunroof operates correctly, however the windeflector is stuck in the retracted position. I tried to carefully pry it up into place and lube with WD 40. Didn't work too well. Anyone been able to repair this problem? Thanks.

I'm assuming you mean the deflector is down and doesn't spring up.
There are plastic guides that hold it on each side that probably broke. First, buy new ones (parts.com or your dealer). Remove the old guide from each side and then the deflector will lift out. The new guides should be easy to install and will properly hold the deflector in place and "spring" it up when the sunroof is open.

sunroof deflector
Yes, that's right. It's stuck in the down position. I looked more carefully at the tracks, etc after Saintz reply. Doesn't appear to be anything broken. The wind deflector still springs up, but doesn't come up all the way. It gets caught between the two pieces of weatherstrip. It can be pulled up through manually to the full up position, and goes down OK. It won't come all the way up on it's own. Tried some WD-40, didn't help. Suggestions?
