Poor acceleration, not sure what to do

I recently had a 98 E430 with 260,000 miles on it, it was maintained perfectly and had all services done at the dealer and was very fast and got decent gas mileage. I just got my 97 E420 and it is terribly slow and has significantly less miles at 208,xxx but my old e430 would do laps around this car. I was at a stop light the other day with a friend that has an Acura RSX and we did a little run and he stomped me and its been bothering me ever since that my car is so slow.
I'm not sure whats wrong with it, I don't know any of the cars history but its not giving me a CEL or any message on the dash. It also seems to loose power after 4k rpm but at the same time it doesn't really get its power until around 3k rpm.
Ive called the dealership and they keep saying it could be something electronic such as the computer not telling the car to accelerate when it needs to but i think thats a load of bull. The car drives normal its just slow.

Anybody have any ideas? Its really starting to bug me. There is no way a car with 160 hp should be able to surpass my car.

Any advice would be appreciated.

e430 0-60 6.2 seconds
e420 0-60 6.7 seconds
Acura RSX Type-S 0-60 6.1 seconds

Is that what you're seeing?

It wasn't an RSX-S. My 0-60 is about 7.5 - 8.0 seconds. I know its got alot of miles but theres no reason for a 0-60 like that. Even when on the freeway you floor it and its terrible acceleration. Not to mention my friends RSX is an auto with about 200,000 miles as well.

W210 E320
could be an air mass meter - faulty on a lot of w210's, which is why in the top end it's running lean/rich and not giving enough power.

Many things can attribute to a loss of power. My car has lost a small percentage of cylinder compression over the last 70k miles or so (200k current).

Start with a tune up. Have some tests done.

I'm a huge fan of additives. Zmax, SeaFoam, Engine Restore...

Try a can of Restore. May solve the whole issue

good luck friend
