Oil/Fluid Leak in rear end

I noticed today that there is some kind of oil/fluid leaking around the rear end of my E430. It's some kind of oil, but not engine oil. I am assuming it's coming from the differential? Anyone have this issue before? If so, what did it cost to repair?

Hello and Welcome to the site -

Your differential uses a heavy oil called hypoid gear oil - about 90w. There are seals and a gasket where a leak can occur. Start by cleaning the area thoroughly using rags, paper towels and cleaner. Then examine frequently to see where it is leaking. Until you find the source of the leak it's hard to estimate the cost.
