Rear Tailights dead

I have a 2001 E430 and my passenger tailight assemble has just died. Well My brake lights are working intermittently. My bulbs and housings are all new. I am now going to check the fuses. Does anyone know which fuse box i should check for the tail lights? I hear the car has 3 seperate fuse boxes.

Thanks in advance for you help. the light issues with this car are driving me

Three are three as you said. The first in under the hood on the left (driver's side) just in front of the windshield. Fold down clip and remove cover. This one also has a place to store spare fuses. The second is under a panel at the end of the left side of the dashboard. The driver's door must be open to access it. Finally, the is a third fuse panel under the passenger side rear seat cushion. Lift the rear seat cushion and remove the felt panel to gain access. Your battery is located here as well. Each location has a fuse chart identifying the fuse number, rating and what circuit it services. Most fuses for external lighting are in the panel at the left end of the dash. This is all explained in your owner's manual. If you don't have one I would urge you to order one from 1-800-FOR MERCedes or contact a dealer.

FYI, it's best to test a fuse with a continuity checker or a DMM since they can appear ok visually when they're not.

Is it just the stop lamp, or turn signal also?
