E200 looses power
This is my first post. My name is Glen and I live in Surrey on the UK.
My query is actually about my ex wife's 1999 E200 W210 auto estate that she has owned and loved for several months.
I drove it today after fitting a new battery and it kept loosing power to the extent it would not rev past 700rpm. If I turned the ignition off and back on it would be OK for about 100 yards, then lose power again. Apparently it's been doing this on and off since the cold spell hit. She says it will start to drive normally again if she "fiddles with the gears" I didn't try that though, so can't confirm it.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Glen.
It could be various things ofcourse, the crankshaft position sensor, the MAF (mass air flow) sensor, fuelpump, throttle position sensor, etc. You'd best take the car to a shop and have it readout for any error-codes before randomly changing out parts. Good luck!

I noticed everyone was from the US.
I have an OBD2 reader, so assuming these cars support OBD2 I will be able to read any fault codes.
Not gonna happen with a foot of snow on the ground though!
Cheers Glen.
