97 E320 head gasket leak

Hey guys, i have a 97 E320 M104 engine, it has been leaking for a while now. its external leak but now its been getting worse and worse as the more my dad drives it. It has been needing 1 quart of oil per week (650-750 miles) Engine has 113k on it but he has a new site that he is going to be working for a while. I have made an appt with my mechanic to do the headgasket. I would do it my self but its so cold here in NY with all the snow.

Main question : after the re install of the head gasket, is there a chance it will leak again? i have already ordered the new head gasket version kit from MB. thanks guys!

Done properly shouldn't leak. You'll need to ensure the head isn't warped or scored though. Best Regards

but you can do it if you can find a warm garage.
Diy on www.peachparts.com resource section diy articles.
Timing cover also. Make sure if you don't do it that the guy that does knows to secure the T chain.

Yeah the guy works at a shop that's exclusively for Mercs. They have the straight edge machine to let me know if it has warped or not which in my opinion is better for them to put the Head gasket on instead of me.

Since the car hasn't over headed once i think it should be fine of the warping. anyone have their head warped without overheating?
