Hi all. Have a problem. Engine shuts off.
Hi all, my engine shuts off after 2 minutes of starting. Not sure why, anyone have an ideas? Thanks! Car is an e430 by the way. 2000.

Ok i dont know where to turn hopefully someone out here can help.I was recently driving my car and it just stopped i pulled over and it started again but when i got home it never started i changed fuel filter, cps and now car wont stay on? It will crank but it wont stay on? Cbna this be a security alarm reason? I havent used my alarm in like 3 months my friend threw the keys at me and dropped them and alarm never worked again so could this be an reason why??? Please help my car is sitting at the mechanics shop and he said it was the cps but its not:/

Start by having the battery tested for a FULL charge. These cars will crank but not start if the battery in not up to full charge. While at it check that the charging system is doing its job. This ca be done either at an auto parts store for free or if you do get this thing running then disconnect the positive lead from the battery and see if it will run on the alternator alone. There are only three things to check on any car having running issues. they are air, fuel and spark. you really need to give more on what it is doing at point of shut down or when trying to start up. This is just a beginning point. Any codes? Do you have a code reader and know how to use one? They are inexpensive to get from Harbor Freight Tools or your local auto parts stores. that would give us more to go on.

Battery has already been fully charged because from cranking it so much it killed battery took it to auto zone to get fully charged. Spark plugs were bought recently and also checked and cleaned , also checked ignition coil and 1 was out but bought one so thats been changed .Scanner read that cps was out and temp sensor also were out so we replaced them also went to turn on and it started and chked and went rite off?

How about checking your MAF?
When it dies, does it struggle first?
You said te key was dropped. Maybe it damaged the IR. Try a different key?
