Comand aux-input

My car has factory comand 2.0 and has a 3,5mm aux-input-jack in the glovebox. I've tried two different MP3-players but I only get very faint sound on the left channel. Does comand need a certain impedance or amount of mV ?!

If you are opening your glove box to put things in and out you may have moved the audio cable. If the sound only comes out of the left side, fiddle with the wire "the one connected to the jack in the glove box" while the Mp3 playing. Then I'm sure you will get all the speakers to play. Make sure you turn up the Mp3 player all the way then you can adjust volume as high or low as you want on the steering wheel or the stereo.

or could be your wire that your running from the mp3 to the jack .. if your running hangin out the glovebox with ur mp3 in the cabin you probably crimped the wiring inside the line when opening n closing the glovebox against the wire , shyt u not happened to me , got new 3 ft line and works great now . or else its coming from the jack to your head unit .

I dont remember what I paid for it, Ebay also. It's still new never used, same design/color. I give you the same deal. Just don't know how much the shipping would cost from CA.

I have cleaned my Comand this afternoon. Cleaned the laser lens and rubber roller successfully so it reads burned CD's and ejects CD's properly again! I removed the glovebox but found out the aux-wire runs down all the way into the passenger side door sill! I've isolated the aux-wire behind the connector going into the Comand unit. A next project will be soldering in a new connection that I'll mount in the ashtray, so that I can connect a small MP3 player there.
