2001 E320 Windshield Washer Pump

My pump is not working. I"m not hearing any motor noise when activating the switch in the cabin area. Any idea which fuse, (driver side next to the firewall) might this be? Or is is possibly the relays next to the fuse box?

Proud owner with 70,000 miles. Never sell, but maybe add another

Possible fuses #41,43 in panel under hood. Also, #5,19 under rear seat. Best to test with meter or continuity tester as visual inspection isn't always reliable.

Thank you for the fast reply. I'll hit the auto part store for a continuity checker, (I'm missing a prong, of course on the one I have).

Best regards,

You might also consider a $5 multimeter from RadioShack, Walmart, etc. so you can test alkaline batteries.

If you don't have the fuse cards for your car. Let me know and I'll post copies.

I had the same problem, First check that your WW water tank is full, If it is empty , you may have a pump problem or a leak in the tubing) Soi I thoughtall I had to do is replace the pump. So I did some detective work and filled the tank full of WW fluid and had a helper activate the pump from the steering column. Found out it was a leak in the tubing right at the "tee" under the windshield. Thinking that I could replace the pump seperately and just reuse the tubing, Bought a WW pump and tried to gerryrig the tubing. Ended up going to MBZ dealer and buying the entir unit, sold as a kit (pump, tubing and sprayers ). I was done in 1/2 hour and after adjusting the jets, I have lots of WW water. On quick helping point: Raise the front hood to the 90 degree level (see DIYs) so that you can get to all the parts under the plastic covers without causing a neck spasm trying to see under the hood.

My pump failed a few months ago. I unpluged it and connected a voltmeter to the connections and saw that I got voltage so I knew it was the pump. I was surprised but the pump was a stock item at autozone and it was really cheap. The Autozone version has a different connector (which it comes with) so I cut off the existing connector and spliced in the new one. It was easy since it's so accessible. I'm sure you can order one from autohausaz or something with the same connector if you dont want to splice in a new one. Anyway it was a really easy and cheap repair
