VIN: WDB2100611A979772

Hi,

I'm kinda confused as what my Mercedes model type is (E240 or E280). The back of my car has E280 written, but my car registration card tells it's E240.. all I could get from the VIN above is:

- Made in Germany
- Model year 2001 (my car registration shows it's 2000)

I'd greatly appreciate if anyone here could help me verify the type and model year.

The 210061 portion of your VIN identifies it as a E240. If you bought the car used it may have been rebadged or had a repair to the rear.

 

Thanks again Wassaby for the info. I've now had my 2000 W210 for six days and one of the rear window regulators died yesterday, not as if I wasn't warned after months of looking on this website. Truth of the matter is after six days of daily driving I love this thing. I think this is my 11th Mercedes, some much older, some new, oddly enough this may be my favorite. The color combo, Tectite Grey with Java leather and mono blocks gets as many looks as my very straight 1966 230S and such a pleasure to drive. Now that I've had it a few days I'm thinking of scaling back my intended mods, now only contemplating refinishing the 18" staggered monoblocks from chrome to the more traditional satin grey and an E55 exhaust. Any commentary is welcome.
